How can I fix my bike?
Bicycle Garden Open Shop
Before COVID 19 and social distancing restrictions Bicycle Garden ran weekly open shop, drop-in DIY hours. This was an evening where the workshop was open to the public, with experienced volunteers on hand to support people repairing their own bicycles. Due to social distancing requirements this program is currently suspended.
We are passionate about supporting and empowering all people to learn how to build, maintain and repair their own bicycles. Under current restrictions we are able to offer a single drop in bike stand. This means on Thursdays you can book time to work on your bike with access to our tools and one of our friendly volunteers available to offer advice. It is very important that you book time in advance however, we will not be able to accept people without a booking. To book please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the date you would like to attend and the repairs you need to complete (or the problem with your bike). We will then confirm a time with you. The only thing you need to bring is your bike and a great attitude. Be ready to get your hands dirty. Suggested donation is $5/hr, plus pay-what-you-can pricing for used parts and set prices for new parts.
Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.
As COVID restrictions ease further we will work to expand this program and support more people in their bike repairs and maintanence.
